Billing Software for Restaurants, Cafés & Hotels
It's 8pm on a Saturday, every table is full, and the kitchen is three orders behind. This is the moment restaurant billing software either helps you or gets in your way — here's what a typical evening looks like when it's built for the job.
A Table Fills Up
A group of four walks in and takes Table 6. Instead of scribbling the table number on a slip and hoping it doesn't get lost, you open the table selection screen and tap Table 6 directly — it's marked as occupied the moment the order starts, so anyone else looking at the floor plan knows it's taken.

For a café or small hotel running a handful of tables, this alone cuts down on the usual confusion of two staff members both trying to serve the same table, or a walk-in being seated at a table that's actually still occupied.
It sounds like a small thing until a Saturday evening rush makes it obvious — with six or eight tables all at different stages of their meal, a visual, always-current view of who's seated where is what keeps the floor running smoothly instead of relying on whoever remembers which table ordered what.
Taking the Order
With the table selected, you move into a new food order screen built the way a KOT (kitchen order ticket) works — pick items off the menu, adjust quantities, and add any special instructions the table has asked for, like "no onions" or "extra spicy."

Because the order is tied to the table, if the group orders a second round of drinks twenty minutes later, it's added to the same running order rather than starting a separate ticket — the whole table's bill stays in one place until checkout.
The Kitchen Sees It Immediately
The moment the order is placed, it shows up on the kitchen dashboard — no walking a paper ticket to the pass, no shouting the order across a noisy kitchen. Kitchen staff see exactly what's been ordered for which table, in the order it came in, so nothing gets missed or cooked out of sequence during a rush.
For a small hotel restaurant running both dine-in and room service, the same dashboard keeps every active order visible in one place, whether it came from a table or a room number. When two or three groups place orders within minutes of each other, the kitchen dashboard is what keeps them from getting mixed up — each order stays clearly tied to its table, even when the kitchen is working on several at once.
Checkout, Fast
When the table's ready to pay, checkout pulls together everything ordered against that table into one bill, with GST applied automatically on the food total — no adding up individual KOT slips by hand at the till. You choose the payment method, save, and the table is freed up for the next group, all without leaving the flow you've been in since the order started.
This is what makes the difference on a busy night: the system tracks the table from seating through to payment, so nothing has to be reconstructed from memory or paper when the bill is finally asked for.
Getting Started Without Commitment
The Hotel & Food Orders module — tables, KOT-style ordering, and the kitchen dashboard — is optional and switches on from Settings when you're ready for it, so you're not paying for restaurant-specific features if you're not running a restaurant. And you can try the whole thing without spending anything first: LKG for Billing's offline plan is free forever, ₹0 with no credit card and no expiry, including 10 invoices a month and unlimited users on the same LAN. There's also a free 30-day cloud trial if you'd rather run things online. Compare plans on pricing or head to download to set up your first table.
