Billwise Profit & Loss
The Billwise Profit & Loss report shows the profit and loss incurred in each transaction. Use it to analyze profitability at the individual invoice level.
Navigate to Accounting → Reports and click the Billwise Profit & Loss card.
Page Controls
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| From | Start date for the reporting period (DD-MM-YYYY) |
| To | End date for the reporting period (DD-MM-YYYY) |
| Generate | Generate the report for the selected date range |
Summary Cards
Four summary cards are displayed at the top after generating the report:
| Card | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Revenue | Total income from all invoices during the period (₹) |
| Total Cost | Total cost of goods/services across all invoices (₹) |
| Gross Profit | Total Revenue minus Total Cost (₹) |
| Profit Margin | Overall profit margin percentage (%) |
Invoice Details
The table header shows the total record count (e.g., "INVOICE DETAILS (6 RECORDS)").

| Invoice # | Invoice number (e.g., INV-006, INV-007) |
| Date | Date of the invoice |
| Customer | Customer name (e.g., Premium Enterprises, ABC Technologies Pvt Ltd, XYZ Retail Solutions) |
| Status | Payment status badge — Paid (green), Partially Paid (orange) |
| Revenue | Total revenue from the invoice (₹) |
| Cost | Cost of goods/services for the invoice (₹) |
| Gross Profit | Revenue minus Cost for the invoice (₹) |
| Margin % | Profit margin percentage for the invoice (%) |
The table supports pagination with configurable Items per page (e.g., 10, 50, 100).
How to Use
- Navigate to Reports from the sidebar
- Click the Billwise Profit & Loss card
- Set the From and To dates to define the reporting period
- Click Generate to load the report
- Review the summary cards for overall profitability
- Scroll through the Invoice Details table to see profit/loss per invoice
- Identify invoices with low or negative margins for review

Compare the Margin % across invoices to identify which transactions are most profitable and which may need pricing adjustments.
